Walk into Western Anglers on Main Street in downtown Grand Junction and you’ll find plenty of what you’d expect—fly rods, reels, technical apparel, flies and gear from some of the best brands in the business.
But spend a little time talking with owner Ned Mayers, and it quickly becomes clear that selling gear is only part of what the shop is about.

Grand Junction Adventures was founded by longtime Grand Junction locals Elizabeth Fortushniak and James Stover. Looking for supplemental income and more flexibility for their young family, the couple launched Grand Junction Stand Up Paddle at Highline Lake, capitalizing on the rapid growth of paddleboarding in the outdoor recreation industry.

As we continue to build a resilient, inclusive, and thriving outdoor recreation economy and culture across the Western Slope, it’s time to shine a light on the people and organizations leading the way.

Join us for an evening of great beer and greater purpose! A portion of all beer proceeds will be donated to GVORC.

Grand Valley Bike Month is a fall-themed cycling celebration held in September across Mesa County—also referred to as Bike Month. It’s a community-driven initiative encouraging people to bike for commuting, fitness, and fun through a variety of events and challenges.

Outdoor vendors, community partners, food trucks, and other amenities will also be available free of charge to the public, all held on Main Street in downtown Grand Junction
